Guide • Step 4: Saving Time on Everyday Tasks
AI Implementation Plan for Small Business: Your 90-Day Plan
Turn AI experiments into a plan your team follows: what comes first, who does what, a short set of rules and a regular check-in.
Days 1–30: Getting Started
- Choose the AI tools your team is allowed to use and write rules for customer information.
- Write your one-page “about our business” note and brand voice guide.
- Pick one task and write down how long it takes today.
Days 31–60: Try It and Check the Results
- Try AI on that task, with a person checking the results.
- Track time saved, reply times and mistakes against your starting numbers.
- Decide to keep, fix or drop it.
Days 61–90: Share It and Repeat
- Show the team what worked, with written steps.
- Start the next task on your list.
- Set a monthly check of tools, costs and problems.
A One-Page AI Policy
Cover which tools are allowed, what information is off-limits, when a person must check the work, when to tell customers, and who to ask. NIST’s AI Risk Management Framework is a useful guide for the “managing AI” part, even for small teams.
